FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I start fixing messy handwriting?

Tracing well-formed letters is the most reliable method. The app lays the model letters underneath in translucent ink, so three minutes a day is enough. Consistency matters more than volume, which is what the daily practice and streak are for.

Is practising on an iPad as effective as paper?

Apple Pencil gives pressure and palm rejection, and the app reproduces real paper rulings. Being able to hide the guide and judge your own letters instantly is something paper cannot do — and if you prefer paper, you can print blank sheets as PDFs.

It really makes a font from my handwriting?

Yes. Write each character once and the device generates a standard TTF file locally. Nothing is uploaded, and you can set your own font as the model you trace.

Can I practise cursive?

Yes. English supports 4-line ruling and cursive fonts, from basic letterforms to joined writing. Japanese and Chinese are supported with their own traditional rulings.

Is it good for children learning to write?

Alphabet and syllable sets come on the right ruling for each script, and you can make a worksheet from anything — a child's name, for instance. Many parents print the blank sheets as PDFs as well.

Do I need an Apple Pencil?

You can write with a finger (that is the default on iPhone), but an Apple Pencil with pressure and palm rejection is recommended. Requires iPadOS or iOS 17 and later.

Is there really no subscription?

None. The 500+ guide fonts, all paper templates and the history are free. A single lifetime purchase unlocks unlimited fonts of your own and unlimited worksheets. No ads either.

Does it work for left-handers?

Yes — palm rejection means resting your hand never marks the page, and right-to-left writing directions are supported.

Where is my practice stored?

Your handwriting and history stay on your device and in your own iCloud. There is no account, no login, and no personally identifying data is collected — only anonymous usage statistics to improve the app.
